Expanded Role of Validators in the Leea Network
Validators are responsible for ensuring the availability of resources and hardware state on the Leea network and are run by the network community. Validators work with the Leea Network DAO when raising disputes about used compute resources.
Validators work to detect the offenses listed below, and each offense carries its penalty structure. Penalties can range from a fixed $LEEA token amount for a validated offense to tiered penalties that reflect varying levels of severity for a particular violation.

Validator Onboarding and Requirements
Technical and Stake Requirements: Validators must meet specific technical requirements to ensure their reliability. This includes hardware capabilities, uptime guarantees, and connectivity standards. Additionally, Validators are required to lock a certain amount of $LEEA tokens as collateral, which ensures their accountability and discourages malicious behavior.
Selection and Rotation Mechanism: Validators could be chosen or rotated based on a combination of performance history, reliability, and their staked amount of $LEEA. This incentivizes high-performance Validators and ensures network resilience by periodically cycling through different Validators.
Validator Rewards and Incentive Structure
Beyond slashing rewards, Validators earn compensation for ongoing work, such as monitoring network performance and providing regular reports. The rewards are distributed from the same Protocol Foundation incentive program.
Validators who maintain consistently high performance (e.g., fast dispute resolution, and reliable monitoring) will receive additional bonuses in $LEEA tokens to encourage long-term engagement.
Validator Involvement in Governance
Active Participation in DAO Governance: Validators have a unique position within the network to propose governance decisions: their firsthand knowledge of network performance makes them ideal candidates to guide key protocol decisions, such as fee adjustments, reward distribution models, or even new features for improving the network.
Validator-Driven Improvement Proposals (VDIPs): approved proposals from Validators will be accountable for additional $LEEA rewards from the DAO reserve fund.
Transparency and Community Accountability
Validators are required to provide transparent reporting of their findings, performance metrics, and slashing activities. This fosters trust in the network and allows the community to track validator activities.
